How to get your life back on track

ree

This is a question we've all asked ourselves at least once in our lives. To answer this question, we can start by asking ourselves why we 'went off the road'.

Why do we lose control of our lives?

  • neglected grief - you have lost a loved one and your life is no longer the same, you cannot move on, your life is meaningless

  • a family drama - divorce, death, accident, betrayal, life no longer has the same appeal

  • professional difficulties - a disrespectful and unresponsive hierarchy, a job that doesn't suit you, a lack of financial motivation - lack of ambition and chronic fatigue

  • health concerns - following an accident, a serious illness, an addiction - fatigue, depression, feeling of being 'lost'

  • loneliness - no one listening to you, no family or friends there for you

  • a loss of confidence in yourself and your abilities, certainly due to one or more of the reasons mentioned above.

So, how do you get back on track and become a moving locomotive again, discovering the world, enjoying life and attracting attention with your joy for life ?

I'm not going to tell you to go out, see people, move around, if you are very reserved or have reduced mobility, there is no answer that suits everyone.

The difficulty lies primarily in maintaining a routine you are no longer happy in and in which you feel trapped. At a time when it is increasingly difficult to get an appointment with a mental health specialist, we need to be imaginative, patient, or both.

If you already have a psychologist or psychiatrist, what do you do outside of sessions, for example ? It's important to get everything off your chest, to lighten your load, so to speak, but once you've dumped your luggage, how do you avoid filling up new bags ?

Every human being has a different way of functioning. Fortunately, we're all different; otherwise, the world would be very boring. Personally, I like to make lists and ask myself the right questions. Here's an example from a client who recently consulted. Be careful : if your life seems to be falling apart, choose one priority area to improve. You can't fix everything at once.

Example: My employer doesn't give me enough responsibilities and sometimes downright disrespects me.

Your question

  • Do I have enough self-confidence or have I lost my self-esteem because of his behaviour ?

  • Do I really enjoy my job or is it just for financial gain ?

  • Can I do better in my current job or elsewhere ?

  • Am I ready to accept my working conditions and be satisfied with them or look elsewhere ?

  • Do I have people around me who encourage me in everything I do or who tend to stay in a pessimistic and negative energy ?

  • Who can help me ?

The last question is important, because, even if you manage to analyze the situation, too often, when we are at the heart of the matter, we create a blockage which prevents lucidity and answers from arriving.

You are not weak if you ask for help, you will always remain in control of the decisions made and, if you follow your intuition, you will know instantly if it suits you or not.

Before asking for help, you should have provided answers or solutions to the questions asked. For example, one solution for a job where you no longer feel comfortable might be to change companies. However, this is not always easy to achieve, and fear can prevent you from moving towards a new adventure.

Alternatively, you can decide to talk to your superiors, explain how you feel and be proactive, presenting a professional project within the company to boost yourself. If these options are not possible, then it is up to you to decide whether you can continue like this and make the most of your personal life more or if it is time to change direction.

The unique feature of PHOTOtherapy sessions is that the answers don't come from you alone, nor from the therapist, but from your guides. They are surprisingly accurate and perfectly match your situation (the analysis) and your possibilities (practical advice and instructions for getting there). If you're ready to cross the starting line, then you're almost at the finish.

If you finally want to breathe and start the next stage of your life serenely, then I am waiting for you here.

See you soon with joy,

Sincerely yours,

Alison
